The Black Box

Erika's Masters of Design thesis investigated the symbolism associated with the shadow in art, architecture and literature and used these concepts to design 5 conceptual spaces for 5 inhabitants that existed for 24 hours on the 22nd June (being the longest night of the year in New Zealand). The investigation was conducted using drawing, both by hand and computer aided - as drawing is considered the language of the shadow. The final submission was 1 + 5 books - an introduction and the 5 projects - presented within a black box.
